Chasing 201.5 MPH in 2015

Avon Lake, OH (April 28, 2015)… DEI is proud to announce they have partnered with LLOYDZ Motor Works in their quest to join the 200 plus Club at 2015 Bonneville Speed Trials. This year, Victory Motorcycles has donated a 2015 Victory Cross Country that forms the base of this salt slaying machine. In addition, this years’ build will once again be built by the Pine Bush Helping with Horsepower/Engineering Academy, under the direction of LLOYDZ Motorworkz.

. The bike has already begun to take shape with a seamless airstream fairing constructed from a FARO Technologies 3-D printer.”DEI is absolutely thrilled to join this effort,” remarked DEI Powersports Brand Manager Brian VanKoevering “Unlike other forms of racing, Speed Trials face a unique set of challenges and it allows for some wonderful creativity when building a bike”.

“Bringing on DEI as a partner is great for the program. Their products and technical advice are great tools to have when building a bike like this.” mentioned Lloyd Greer.

About Pine Bush Helping with Horsepower/ Engineering Academy

The Pine Bush Helping with Horsepower and Engineering Academy is using a motorcycle as a metaphor for the ways in which a motorcycle build can relate to persevering in life and to overcome obstacles that we all face.

Students work together to build a racing motorcycle essentially from the ground up with the help of local motorcycle shop owner, Lloyd Greer of LLOYDZ Motorworkz. Lloyd, who also serves as the President of the PB Board of Education, generously donates his shop, time and energy to the students of the Pine Bush STARS Academy.

Lloyd will tell you that he sees a lot of himself in many of the students, who are virtually all at risk for dropping out of high school, since he dropped out in the 10th grade. Eventually, Lloyd earned his GED and went on to found LLOYDZ Motorworkz and is now a very successful producer of performance parts for Victory Motorcycles.

With Lloyd’s help the students were put into contact with Laura Klock, President and co-founder of Helping with Horsepower who began the Helping with Horsepower not-for-profit to help at-risk youth from all walks of life find meaning and coping mechanisms for the obstacles that they must overcome.
